Dr Nicole Mather has been instrumental in shaping the policies underpinning the UK Life Science and health tech ecosystem over the last five years. As founding Director of the Office for Life Sciences, Nicole led for government on the development of the first Life Sciences Sector Deal, working alongside Prof Sir John Bell to cement key elements of the Life Sciences Industrial Strategy. Nicole shaped the Accelerated Access Review, laying out the criteria for the selection and spread of new health tech in the NHS, supporting innovators and enabling the strengthening of the AHSN network. The legacy of this work has led to the development of the Digital Innovation Hubs to allow researchers to use NHS data to develop new products for NHS patients.

Nicole has advised a range of leading commercial organisations across life sciences and health via Deloitte and ATKearney consulting and holds a DPhil, MSc and MA from the University of Oxford. Nicole is a Non-Executive Director of the Health Research Authority.
